Overview

Experience/ Taster Day

Experience Days are a great opportunity to come along, get creative and ‘have a go’ at woodworking.

They’re also a good introduction as a ‘Taster Day’ to the full tuition courses that include more detailed instruction and use of a wider range of tools and techniques.

No previous woodworking experience is needed as you will be guided through the making process using a variety of hand tools.

Instruction is given in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, where there will be no more than four participants, to allow for maximum individual attention.

Projects

There are a number of Experience/Taster Day projects to choose from. These can be comfortably completed within the day to be able to take home fully finished.

Facilities

Drinks making facilities are available at the workshop for tea/coffee breaks.

For lunch, The Quarter @ Potbank café is open Wednesday - Saturday where you would be able to buy food to eat there or bring back to the workshop, plus there is a sandwich shop and a Sainsbury’s store within 5 minutes walk.

You are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat either within the workshop or in the communal seating area.

Each workbench has a small lockable cupboard for the secure storage of personal belongings.

Free off road parking available.

Unfortunately, at this time, the Experience/Taster Days are not suitable for individuals with physical/mobility difficulties that would preclude them from standing and working at a bench for a continuous period of time.

Dates & Booking

There is a selection dates throughout the year, including weekdays and weekends.

Times are listed on the individual pages.

Please see the Experience/Taster Day Dates page for dates and the individual project pages for availability and booking.
